image3Our applications are in Word format, select the application of interest below for download. We have recently added some online applications for specific roles.

During convention (including speeches) candidates should wear regular state member official dress.  Black, Red or White Polo shirt with Black Pants or Skirt, Black closed toed shoes.
Campaigning is not allowed (passing out cards/candy or hanging signs) yet socializing and meeting people is encouraged.
ALL Candidates must be at an Opening Session rehearsal at 12:00pm on Wednesday.

District Officer Selection Process:
  1. Complete the application form, including the signatures and letters of recommendation, submitting to State Adviser Angela Sweep.
  2. ***At Opening Session, each candidate will be given an item that must remain with them throughout the convention.  This identifies them to other members as Candidates.
  3. Self-Introduction at Opening Session of Name and School.
  4. Speeches will be given at the District Meeting on Friday.  Speeches must be 2-3 minutes long on the theme of the convention.
State/National Officer Selection Process:

  2. Self-Introduction at Opening Session of Name, School, Interesting Thing about You (no more than 30 seconds)
  3. Voting Delegate Reception Wednesday Evening consists of small group Q&A. Also, a question will be drawn from a bag and answered for all the Voting Delegates.
  4. At the Keynote Session, each candidate will draw an item from a bag and then relate it to his/her leadership skills.
  5. Speeches will be given at the Business Session on Friday. Speeches must be 3-5 minutes long on the theme of the convention.
  6. Each candidate will then be asked a FACTUAL question and a SITUATION question.
Who is eligible to be a member of FCCLA?

fccla_logoAny student who has taken a course in Family and Consumer Sciences, or as determined by the state department of education, middle school through grade 12 is eligible for active membership in an organized chapter within their school. Once the state and national dues are paid, the student will be an official affiliated member. Teachers can join FCCLA, too! Teachers certified to teach Family and Consumer Sciences Education, or as determined by the state department of education, can serve as the FCCLA chapter adviser.
